Using Kandipal
Terms of Service
These terms set the ground rules for using Kandipal’s website, apps, and related services.
- Effective
- October 5, 2026
- Version
- 1.1
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms govern Kandipal’s website, progressive web app, native mobile apps, and related planning, account, sharing, and support services (the “Service”). “Kandipal,” “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the operator of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information; agreement to these terms is not consent to optional data processing that requires separate consent.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required where you live. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or guardian must authorize your use and agree to these terms on your behalf where required. You must have legal capacity or that valid authorization.
Provide accurate account information, use only accounts you are authorized to use, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for your own actions and actions you authorize through your account. Display names, photos, friend codes, and Crew membership do not verify a person’s identity, ticket ownership, or trustworthiness. Do not impersonate anyone.
3. The Service
Kandipal helps you view festival information, build plans, use venue maps, export information, and coordinate with Friends and Crews. Features vary by platform and release. Online features depend on connectivity, an eligible account, permissions, and third-party services. We may change or discontinue features, impose reasonable usage limits, or interrupt service for maintenance, security, or legal reasons, subject to required notice and any rights attached to a paid service.
Offline availability depends on prior successful downloads, storage space, device settings, and supported software. Browsers and operating systems can remove stored data. Sync and queued requests may be delayed, fail, or require you to resolve conflicting edits. Check the displayed result before relying on a send, invitation, update, or deletion. Keep separate backups of important plans, tickets, and travel details. The Service is not a permanent archive or guaranteed backup service.
4. Festival information and personal safety
Lineups, set times, maps, artist descriptions, coordinates, and venue information may be incomplete, out of date, or incorrect. They may come from third parties and can change without notice. Unless expressly stated, Kandipal is independent of the organizers, artists, venues, and ticket sellers it lists and does not organize or control their events. A listing, saved set, attendance choice, or shared plan is not a ticket, reservation, admission right, or promise that an event will occur.
The Service is a planning aid, not an emergency, navigation, medical, legal, or safety service. Map pins are user-entered or published reference points, not live tracking or a guarantee of a safe or accessible route. Confirm important details with official event sources, follow venue rules and emergency personnel, and contact local emergency services when needed. Support messages and Crew activity are not monitored as emergency channels.
5. Your content, sharing, and Crew activity
You retain the rights you hold in your notes, custom events, photos, images, and other submitted content. You grant Kandipal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, format, resize, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service and carry out the features you choose. This license extends to providers working for us for those purposes; it does not give us ownership of your private plans or permission to sell them for advertising.
By sharing content, you authorize delivery to the chosen recipients or audience, including anyone with a public view link you create or share. You permit recipients to view, save, and use that content for the personal planning and sharing functions the Service provides. Only share content and personal information you have the right to share, including permission to use other people’s photos when required.
Sent cards, exports, and saved copies are independent of the source. Public Crew Plan links show a frozen selection. Source edits, account deletion, leaving a Crew, or removing a friend do not recall copies already received. Revoking a link cannot erase screenshots or downloads. Review recipients, notes, locations, and permissions before sharing; do not post sensitive information in a shared item by mistake.
Crew owners and authorized participants manage membership, roles, suggestions, and shared content. You authorize the changes allowed by the Crew permissions you participate under, including a Crew owner’s use of confirmed contributions in public Crew Plan view links. If an owner leaves or deletes an account, the Crew may transfer to an eligible member or be archived. We do not guarantee continued membership, acceptance of contributions, or another person’s attendance or conduct.
The content license ends when the relevant content is removed from our systems, except for copies retained as described in the Privacy Policy, lawful recordkeeping, and copies previously shared that remain in use through the Service. Those exceptions are limited to their stated purposes and do not override applicable deletion rights.
6. Acceptable use
You may not, or help anyone else to:
- Break the law, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or submit content you lack permission to use.
- Harass, stalk, threaten, exploit, expose private information about, impersonate, or endanger anyone, including through pins, invitations, or shared plans.
- Send spam or fraudulent requests, upload malware, or manipulate support, sharing, or moderation systems.
- Access another account, collect private user information, guess or harvest invitation/share codes, or bypass permissions, rate limits, or access controls.
- Disrupt or overload the Service, interfere with other users, or evade a suspension through another account or identity.
- Scrape, crawl, bulk download, or automate extraction of Service content without our written permission, except as expressly allowed below or by law.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to obtain nonpublic source code, except to the extent a law or applicable software license permits it.
- Sell access, exploit the Service as an unauthorized data feed, or use our protected materials to build or supply a competing product without permission.
These limits do not prohibit normal browser caching, accessibility tools, built-in offline downloads and exports, authorized integrations, or indexing of public pages by search engines that respect our access rules. They do not restrict independent development using lawfully obtained information or rights that law or an applicable open-source license preserves. Report security issues privately through our contact form; these terms do not authorize testing that accesses other people’s data or disrupts the Service.
7. Kandipal materials and intellectual property
Kandipal and its licensors retain all rights in the Service’s original code, interface artwork, written content, branding, and protectable selection and arrangement of content. Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for lawful, noncommercial planning, including the downloads and sharing its features expressly allow. No other rights are granted by implication. Access to a file, export, or API does not make it public domain.
Except as permitted by these terms, written permission, an applicable license, or law, do not copy, adapt, republish, distribute, sublicense, sell, or commercially exploit our protected materials; remove ownership notices; or use our name, logo, or branding to suggest affiliation or endorsement. Do not use unauthorized bulk extraction of those materials to create datasets or train machine-learning models.
We do not claim ownership of your content, underlying facts, general ideas, or third-party festival, artist, map, and image rights. Those rights remain with their owners. Open-source and third-party components remain subject to their own licenses, which control where they conflict with these terms for those components.
8. Third-party services
External links, authentication providers, image hosts, map and calendar apps, device sharing tools, and app stores have their own terms and privacy practices. Their availability and changes are outside our control. You are responsible for reviewing imported files and deciding what to send to those services. We do not guarantee their content, products, security, or compatibility. This does not exclude our own obligations for providers processing information on our behalf.
9. Advertising, sponsorships, and affiliate links
Kandipal may support itself through advertising, sponsored placements, partnerships, and affiliate links. We may receive compensation for qualifying views, clicks, or transactions. Commercial relationships will be disclosed as required, and any associated personal-data use is subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable choices.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, advertisers and merchants are responsible for their own offers, fulfillment, refunds, and claims; we are not a party to your transaction with them. Placement is not a guarantee or endorsement. If we introduce paid Kandipal features, applicable prices, billing, cancellation, and any additional terms will be presented before you purchase. These terms alone do not authorize a charge or subscription.
10. Feedback and rights complaints
If you voluntarily send product suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free right to use them to develop and improve our products without payment or attribution. Do not submit someone else’s confidential ideas. This permission covers the suggestion, not ownership of your personal plans, support conversation, or other private information.
Report infringement, harmful content, or other rights concerns through our contact form. Identify the material and its location, explain your rights or concern, and provide contact information and relevant evidence. We may request more information, restrict content while reviewing a report, or remove infringing content and suspend repeat infringers where appropriate. This reporting process does not limit any statutory notice or remedy available to you.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion through the available controls. We may restrict content or suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach, abuse, a security risk, a legal requirement, or discontinuation of the Service. We will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue where reasonably practicable and required by law; urgent security or legal circumstances may require immediate action. Contact us to ask for review of an access restriction.
We do not promise to review every submission or resolve disputes between users, but may investigate reports and enforce these terms. Termination does not recall recipients’ copies or automatically clear device data. Content licenses needed for retained copies, ownership, accrued payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute provisions survive to the extent their purpose requires and law allows.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Kandipal disclaims warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee event information, delivery of requests, continued feature availability, or preservation of local or cloud data.
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a warranty cannot be excluded, any permitted limit applies only to the extent allowed by law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kandipal, its operator, contributors, officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Service, even if advised that such loss was possible.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the combined total liability of Kandipal and those parties for claims arising from or relating to the Service or these terms will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid Kandipal for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits apply regardless of the legal theory of the claim, only to the extent legally enforceable.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is prohibited, or any other liability or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain intact.
14. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kandipal, its operator, contributors, officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, and service providers against third-party claims and reasonable resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees, caused by your unlawful use, content that infringes another person’s rights, or material breach of these terms. This does not cover losses caused by the protected party’s own unlawful conduct or impose an obligation that mandatory consumer law prohibits.
We will give reasonably prompt notice of a covered claim and may control its defense. You must reasonably cooperate, but may not settle a claim in a way that imposes an admission or obligation on us without our written consent. We will not agree to a settlement imposing a non-monetary obligation on you without your consent.
15. Disputes and governing rules
Please first describe a dispute through our contact form so we can try to resolve it. This request does not require you to delay urgent relief, miss a filing deadline, or give up a right to contact a regulator. Applicable law governs, including consumer protections that cannot be waived. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear unresolved disputes. These terms do not require arbitration or waive any class-action right available by law.
16. General terms
These terms and any additional terms you expressly accept for a feature form the agreement about use of the Service. The Privacy Policy governs our stated handling of personal information. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or severed only as needed and the rest remains effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your contractual rights without our consent except as law allows; we may assign ours in a business reorganization or sale, subject to applicable law and your existing rights.
Neither party is liable for a delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control to the extent the law allows. This does not excuse obligations that cannot lawfully be excused. No agency, partnership, or employment relationship is created by using the Service.
17. Changes and contact
We may update these terms prospectively and will revise their date and version. For material changes, we will provide notice and obtain any acceptance required by applicable law before applying them. Continued use constitutes acceptance only where legally sufficient. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or mandatory protections. If you disagree, stop using the affected Service; you may export available plans and request account deletion.
Submit legal notices, rights complaints, and questions through our contact form.
